The Science Behind Learning and Teaching Math
At Numera Lab, we study how people make sense of numbers—from preschoolers learning to count, to adults tackling complex mathematical reasoning. Based at Nanyang Technological University Singapore, our research bridges brain science, cognitive psychology, and education. Whether you’re a kid, parent, or teacher, our goal is to make math make sense—for every learner.
We need participants!
We’re looking for Kindergarten Year 2 children (5 to 6 years old) and Primary 1 children (6 to 7 years old) to take part in a fun study about learning math and educational videos!
LAB Director
Dr. Darren Yeo is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Nanyang Technological University Singapore and the founding director of Numera Lab. A former school teacher turned cognitive neuroscientist, Dr. Yeo leads research at the intersection of brain science, education, and mathematics learning.
